Surgery

A few pictures of the past few days. Yes I'm exhausted but I want everyone to see her!

Before surgery in the pre-op - she picked grape for her gas mas this time.

Daddy and Haven head off to the OR with the surgeons and nurses.
Check out the new hats!

Haven in the PICU. She was put on a ventilator for a pretty long while.

Finally get the ventilator out...first thing she says immediately - "I want to go home" and "Brown is in the fridge"

For those of you who don't know - Brown is Dad and Jeannie's weiner dog - Kerry!

Finally gets a bath after a couple days of iodine/baby wipe smell!

This is Nurse Erin. She helped to wash Haven down and get her new bedding. We had lots of fun.

Haven is "belaxing" as she calls it. So now everyone uses that word instead of relaxing.

Nurse Erin makes Haven a "Queen" hat and got her some pink lip stick. She so beautiful!

We waited about 14 hours to see her the day of surgery. Total time of surgery was 8 1/2 hours. Dr. Mitchel Price was her surgeon and he is awesome. He was able to remove the ENTIRE tumor!!! She received the port instead of the Hickman line. Bone marrow and spinal tap were done with no complications. She has a 7 inch incision across the bottom of her belly. She is extremely puffy from the saline solution she was given. Instead of a blood transfusion they used saline. I was not a fan of the blood transfusion so they worked to stay away from it. They gave her about 3 liters of saline. So she's had to work hard to pee it out. She's doing great but still extremely puffy. We hope to have her out of PICU by Monday. She has a bone scan on Monday - to check to see if there are any more tumors on the bone anywhere. Let's hope not!

So right now she is resting and I am going to bed as well. Will update again soon!

Love to all
Misty

ROHHAD in Ireland

I received this story in my email today. It still shocks me that my daughter has ROHHAD. It's a horrible disease that destroys a child...
