Day 2 - Make-A-Wish trip - Magic Kingdom / Epcot

Our first day of parks began with Magic Kingdom - Haven's choice for her birthday

First character we meet is Lilo!

Then the Toy Story gang saw us walking and grabbed Haven to hang out with her for a while.

The Jungle Cruise - Haven was initially afraid of this and they even asked her if she would drive the boat. Needless to say - she refused and stayed planted in her seat!

The Flying Carpets - she saw this ride online when she was researching Disney and had to ride it immediately!

Ariel - we were super excited to meet her and they let Haven go right up in the front of the line! It was great.

Waiting to ride Peter Pan

The Castle - we had a great day and because Make-A-Wish kids get an automatic front of the line pass we never waited in line and rode so many things early that we moved on to Epcot around dinner time

Rose & Crown Pub - one of Haven's favorite restaurants. She loves it so much we ate here twice.

They brought her a sundae that she could make herself for her birthday! She had a lot of fun with this.

Sleeping - I can't tell you how many looks I got for this. She slept for about 45 minutes like this. Her only rule is that all of her badges on her necklace had to show.

We walked around the World Showcase while Haven slept. This is Japan

Moracco - one of our favorite. We stopped to see the belly dancer and listen to the band. We have some of their CDs

This is China

Fireworks show. We saw these every night we were at Epcot

Monday Magic Kingdom/Epcot

Our last day was Monday. We hit Magic Kingdom and of course, Epcot. Haven started the day at MK because she HAD to get more autographs. I was starting to wonder who's child this was! PS: it rained ALL DAY - well actually right after the parade. It was a super cold rain and it thunderstormed part of the day.
Mickey and Minnie hanging out!

First stop - Mary Poppins. Haven has most of the Disney movies and she had to stop by and see her.
We were trying to hurry because there was a parade for the Pitsburgh Steelers happening only a few feet away.....we didn't want to be any part of the rowdiness!

Next we found where the Princesses were hiding! Here is Haven with Princess Aurora.

Haven with Cinderella.....it takes some time to get close to them again but she did very well.

Haven with Belle. All of the Princesses talked to her for quite a while. They asked her where her kingdom was and if she was the ruler. We laughed at this!!! Of course she is!

Haven heading down to Pixie Hollow......

Lady bug of Pixie Hollow

This is Silvermist - she is a fairie from the new Tinkerbell movie. I learned a lot about fairies from Haven on this trip. She waited quite a while to see the fairies but we just HAD to.

This is Irridessa from Tinkerbell. I haven't seen the movie but I know Haven wants me to watch it with her this weekend. Anytime she is coloring in her Tinkerbell book she watches to movie to make sure she gets all their clothing color right.

Miss Tinkerbell......I was excited to get Haven with Tinkerbell. She loves the movie and loves Tinkerbell.

Well...it's nap time again. We decided to take a boat to Epcot instead of the bus - mix it up a bit. Haven was asleep before we got on the boat and slept through the entire trip. She woke up when we made it to the monorail and headed in to Epcot one last time.

The rain finally stopped around 8pm and Haven and I grabbed our evening drinks. I had a Vanilla Latte and she had a "not so hot" hot chocolate! You have to ask for "not so hot" so kids can actually drink it. This was her favorite treat every night. Mine too!!!
We had the best time at Disney - Haven is already saying she has to go back every year that it was the best. THANK YOU RIVERSIDE and everyone that donated to Haven's Disney Trip.

Day 1 - Getting there and the next day

ok...so I'm limited on energy. It's funny - at home I'm up until 1am and then back up at 6am for work every night....I can barely make it to 9pm in Florida. My legs are killing me and my back is dead...but we're still moving! So I will start with Day 1 and catch up to today.

Flight was great - Haven flies very well. This is her 7th time flying and it was the shortest distance. We sat in the very front of the plane and of course the Southwest flight attendants were AWESOME. We don't like to bother people with all our special needs but they just kept taking care of Haven. Bringing her pillows and making sure she was comfortable and not scared. Just kept talking to her. It was very nice.

One lesson I learned was to NEVER administer chemo while flying in a plane! This was a bad idea but it was 8pm and I was freaking that we were going to be late. Well I opened the bottle and BAM (as Haven would say) it flowed out all over me. My jeans were covered and stained black instantly and my hands were completely soaked....there was nothing left in the bottle at this point! I'm so happy it was only about 2ml of fluid. So I decided I'd wait until we landed to open the other bottle!

Then we took our bus to the resort and Haven was terrified. There were no seatbelts on the bus and she did not like that. She made her dad hold his arms across her like a seatbelt because she thought she was going to fall out.

We got to the hotel around 945pm and went to bed immediately. Our first day would be Magic Kingdom!! I'll put a few photos up here but everthing from the trip with be on her FLICKR account until Disney Vacation.

What's nice is having a 6 day hopper ticket and not worrying about getting to the park when it opens. So we ate breakfast in bed, we all sat around and thought good thoughts for Mason (he was having eye surgery today) and made it over to Disney by noon.

There are a lot of photos of Haven on her FLICKR site ---- CLICK HERE

ROHHAD in Ireland

I received this story in my email today. It still shocks me that my daughter has ROHHAD. It's a horrible disease that destroys a child...
