Charlize Joliat - Beautiful Angel

Charlize Joliat - a beautiful 5 year old girl - has joined the angels in the heavens. She passed away from complications with ROHHAD on November 20th, at 9:05pm.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the Joliat family.

Please accept our sincerest thoughts for your family. We ask that all of you say a prayer for the family through this time.

Although I never met Charlize she was like a relative to me. Our ROHHAD community is small but we are tight and we watch each others children as if they are our own. I can only find comfort knowing two other beautiful angels in Heaven who have also passed. They will find her and they are now a family and they will gain strength to watch over all of our children as they continue to battle ROHHAD.

Charlize you are truly an inspiration to all of us and you will remain in our hearts forever.

Always -

Haven and Misty

  1. I can't imagine the suffering this family is going thru. Charlize and all children with ROHHAD are in our prayers always. This is a horrible end to a horrible syndrome.
Love always to Charlize her family.

  2. I extend my deepest sympathy to the parents of Charlize-Joliat. Despite the bad things about ROHHAD the wonderful memories of such a lovely little girl will live on in their memory and heart. Death during childhood is an unfortunate thing that is happening to some of the ROHHAD patients. Also I wonder how many children have died due to an undiagnosed case of ROHHAD? I hope doctors can find a cure for ROHHAD. My daughter, Leigh Ann, is a ROHHAD Angel. My husband Glen extends his sympathy to the family of Charlize-Joliat also. Glen & Vicki

  3. We will be praying for the family of Charlize-Joliat. It is so sad that some parents have to experiece the death of a ROHHAD child. We just pray that the doctors can find a cure or something to slow down the progression of this horrible syndrome. We don't know this family but we do feel a closeness for their emotional needs. During the life and death of a ROHHAD child you deal with many mixed emotions. We are the parents of Leigh Ann a ROHHAD Angel. We will continue praying for this family. If we can help by talking to this family we would be glad to help them during their time of grief. Our heart goes out to them during this time of sadness.

  5. I had the opportunity to care for Charlize on our pediatric ward and although I did not know her for very long before she was sent to specialists to receive her diagnosis, I feel for her and her family. I saw how much the Joliat family had to go through and would never wish this upon anyone. She is now free to fly among the angels and I extend my sympathy to her parents and family.

ROHHAD in Ireland

I received this story in my email today. It still shocks me that my daughter has ROHHAD. It's a horrible disease that destroys a child...
