Hanging with Grandma and Grandpa from Utah

Grandma Sing and Grandpa B-off came to visit in June.  We had a fun Spring/Summer with everyone coming to visit us!

Rohnin had to start learning to drink from the bottle so I could go back to work.  I was a bit concerned having 12 weeks off with her that she would never use the bottle.  I had Haven in day care by 6 weeks and no issues.

A day trip with G&G.  Haven showed them where our favorite hang out was - Brooms Blooms Dairy.  Best freshest ice cream ever made!

We sure do love this place!

Rohnin thought she'd actually give me a little face time and do some nice photos...

Even got a smile out of her - only 2 months old here!

Photo time with G&G.  This is such an adorable photo.  Love the two girls in the middle.

Of course, Miss Haven just adores her new sister.  She holds her every minute she can.

My girl growing up....can't believe we're headed to 2nd grade already.....

While this one has to start learning to hold her head up on her own and sit some day

 Grandpa adoring his newest granddaughter

Rohnin is thinking....who are these people?

Hi Grandma.....Miss Rohnin as a new little bean.

Step 3

Grandpa and Grandma took Haven downstairs to work on Dad's Father's Day present.  It was a cool t-shirt with Haven's hand print!

Visiting Gma and Gpa Virginia

In May Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. Haven received new books to read and lots of time to hang out.

Of course Rohnin had to hang out too.  Grandma loved to hold her.

A huge thing for Haven is alone time with her grandparents.  They got all dressed up.....

 Took some photos....and headed to......

a beautiful tea party.  Such a cute idea and we love the Grandma always takes her to these places.  Haven will remember them forever.

They had tea and treats....even brought mom some special tea.

After tea they went to a pottery class where Haven got to decorate her own tea cup and saucer.

Reading is a passion for Haven.  She loves to read for hours.

Lazy Spring days

Ahhhhhhhhhh....the lazy days of Spring with my fuzzy sister Deezy.  She instantly loved me.

I love going to Grandma B-Honey's house.  We sit out on the porch and relax.

Hanging out in daddy's arms.....best place to sit in the entire house!

In May my grandparents from Virginia came to visit me.  We had so much fun.  I'm only a few weeks old here.

Here I am with both sisters.  Haven loved to hold me and of course Deez had to be right next to us.

My favorite way to sleep.....arms up!

Me and my Haven.  She takes such good care of me.  She is an amazing sister...I'm glad I have her to love me.

Our Newest Addition

In April of 2011 our second daughter was born.

We were amazed at her ultrasound photos and how long her legs were.

Mom's favorite foods all in one plate - Naval oranges, Cabot cheese, 75% cocoa chocolate and saltine crackers.....

One of the best perks....closer parking!  Grandpa loved to have mom with him when he went shopping

My sister Haven doing my baby registry at Babies R Us

She spent about 2 hours in the store going through everything!!!

Grandma B Honey had a beautiful baby shower for me.  All of mom's friends came and we had lots of fun playing games and eating yummy foods!

Thank you Grandma for all the yummy food and very cool party!

Some of mom's friends - Nicole, Maureen, Amanda.  Maureen came to visit us from Massachusetts for the occasion!

Playing games with everyone....gifts were Starbucks cards!

Just one of the cute gift packages mom received for me!
These are Haven's friends from Massachusetts.  Sophia to the left and Mackenzie on the right.  Sophia has the same rare syndrome Haven has - ROHHAD.

My sister - the princess of the party!

Monitoring me....mom was having false labor but didn't know it.
Oh we had to go to the hospital a few times for false labor.....this little girl didn't want to come out.  Our first visit was on my birthday, April 6.  But after a few hours of walking up and down Hopkins - which I have done for too many years already - we were sent home.

The original due date was April 11, 2011.  Which would've been cool and easy to remember with 4/11.  But no not my child.....stubborn before exiting...

We welcomed Rohnin Autumn-Aria on April 18th at 7:41 am.  She weighed in at 7lbs and 7oz and a length of 20 1/2 inches long.

I finally got to hold her after  1 1/2 hours from birthing her. She had a lot of respiratory issues and was on oxygen for quite a while.  But she did great.

Here is Haven meeting her sister for the first time.  We had to work a deal with the nurses on the floor and Haven's Oncologist to let her up there.  They don't allow anyone under 16 on the floor - even siblings.

My sleeping little baby.  She was amazingly perfect.  She was born with some minor complications but after she went through a few ultrasounds and scans we were assured that all would be well soon and that she would be monitored by the doctors for the next couple of weeks.

Here are her beautiful wrinkly feet....feeling a bit like snake skin!

We still weren't sure of her name until the final day at the hospital.  It was set for 6 months and then at the last minute we altered it.

Ready for our first drive in the car and mom is ready for this needle to be out of her wrist!

Finally home with my big sister.  I am so happy to finally get to relax in my own home.  Haven is the best big sister ever!

Pulmonary visit

Well we had a pulmonary visit yesterday.  Nothing new to report.  This was a pre-sleep study visit.  Haven's next sleep study is on October 14th.  She has had some crazy snoring so we started her on Flonase each night.  It's actually a different name but I can't remember it because it's so long.  But it's practically the same thing as Flonase.

She is home from school today due to the flu mist being administered at school.  She now weighs in at 86 lbs and 45" tall.

Back To School Night

We were very excited to go to Haven's back to school night.  She was looking forward to it.  Wanted to see all her old friends and meet her new teacher.  So far she is doing an excellent job.  She has had two tests and both of them were 100% .... so we've done a bit of a party dance.

I was hoping Haven would be enjoying school as much as last year but she says she is a little bored and it's just not interesting.  So this is a bit concerning to me.  She reads like a crazy woman and I think it's just not challenging enough for her.  Not to mention she really argues with us about having to do PE class.  So on with the rest of the year. Teacher conferences are coming up.

She will be home half of this week due to the flu mist at school.  She is not allowed to attend because she has a weak immune system.

Oncology visit

Haven's last Oncology visit was August 26th.  We had hoped, as mentioned before, that her numbers would magically go up and she'd be able to have surgery to remove her port and no more IVIG.  This was not the case.  It was her first visit without her old nurse.  It was a bit stressful for her and I stayed with her for the day.

Excellent view of the port with the access needle in it.

She did very well.  We were there until about 4pm.  Her next visit is October 24th. We will meet with her Oncologist at that time to review Haven's progress and probably get a flu shot.

ROHHAD in Ireland

I received this story in my email today. It still shocks me that my daughter has ROHHAD. It's a horrible disease that destroys a child...
